A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

A little clarity.

Does my image leave my device?

No. Background removal runs in your browser, and this tool does not upload your image or save a server copy. On first use, your browser downloads about 20 MB of processing files. These are cached for future visits when your browser allows it.

What images can I use?

Choose one JPG, PNG, or WebP image at a time, up to 30 MB and 50 megapixels. Larger images within these limits are resized so the longest side of the output is at most 4,096 pixels. For HEIC photos, use our HEIC to JPEG converter first.

Will every edge be perfect?

Results work best with one distinct subject. Fine hair, fur, transparent objects, shadows, and busy backgrounds can be difficult, and some detail may be removed or left behind. Use edge cleanup to adjust the result and check your preview before downloading.

Is the downloaded background really transparent?

Yes. The result is a PNG with a transparent background. The checkerboard, white, and dark preview options help you inspect the edges; they are not added to your download.

Why does the first image take longer?

The first run downloads the files needed to process your image, then prepares the tool. Later runs can reuse the cached files. Speed depends on your image, browser, and device. Keep the tab open while it works; if processing fails, try a smaller image in an up-to-date browser.
