Static codes stay local. Dynamic links stay editable.

01 / THE CONNECTION

Where should it lead?

Up to 1,800 UTF-8 bytes. Longer content makes a denser code. Static QR content cannot be changed after printing.

02 / MAKE IT SCANNABLE

A four-module clear border and whole-pixel modules are always included. Small PNG sizes are increased when needed. Dark on light, high-contrast colours only.

03 / READY TO CONNECT

A clear next step.

Generate a code to see the preview.

Scan the downloaded code with another device before printing or sharing it. A redirect counter counts requests, including previews and bots; it is not a count of unique people.

Ready when you are.

Return to a dynamic link.

Open your private recovery link, or import the recovery file you saved. Editing keys are held in the active tab, your saved link/file and, if you choose, this browser’s local storage. Private URL fragments are removed after opening.

Static or dynamic: choose what needs to change

A static QR stores the link or text directly in its pattern. Generation and PNG/SVG downloads stay in your browser; no QR content is uploaded. It remains usable without the Bell River redirect service.

A dynamic QR contains a stable Bell River redirect URL. Its destination, enabled state and anonymous redirect total are kept on our server. No IP addresses or user-agent strings are stored in its analytics. Short-lived, server-keyed hashes of IP addresses are used only to limit abusive requests. Hosting infrastructure may keep its own access logs.

Recovery and reliability

There is no account. The server stores a hash of a random editing key, not the key itself. Download a recovery file before leaving. Losing every copy means losing the ability to edit or disable that link.

Dynamic codes depend on continued service availability. Creation is limited to 10 per hour and 30 per day per network address, with service-wide capacity limits. Avoid putting sensitive information in public destinations. The counter measures successful GET redirects, including bots and repeat requests; HEAD requests are not counted.
