What happened

Oracle announced additions to Fusion Data Intelligence on October 27. Its generally available Data Agents let users ask questions about governed business data from within dashboards. The platform combines managed pipelines, business definitions and packaged metrics for Fusion applications.

Oracle also introduced Deep Insight Agents for investigating broader business questions, with general availability planned within twelve months. Operational Analytics has limited availability, so the announced features do not share a single release status.

What it means for business

For analysts, conversational access increases the importance of consistent metric definitions. A fluent answer is useful only when the underlying business meaning is agreed.

  • Document the owner and definition of each important metric.
  • Compare agent answers with a small set of verified business questions.
  • Check feature availability before including it in a delivery commitment.

Deep Insight Agents are a product plan, not a generally available capability. Oracle states that future delivery and timing may change.
